Barcelona's grooviest and coolest DJ popstars The Pinker Tones make their Florida debut. Live, the duo have been the big hits at the groundbreaking Sonar Festival in Barcelona and at the Latin Alternative Music Festival in New York in recent years. Their big hit, Sonido Total, from their recent CD (Nacional Records) The Million Colour Revolution can be heard in funky clubs and parties around the world.
The Pinker Tones are a duo, Professor Manso and Mister Furia, who began working together through a shared love of bossa nova, 60s Lounge rhythms, soundtracks, experimental synthesizers, and groovy beats. First collaborating in the summer of 2001 for a TV soundtrack, they quickly became an in-demand group for Djs gigs and producing artists. Their first CD The BCN Connection became a hit across Europe and paved the way for The Million Colour Revolution.
They are now in the midst of a whirlwind tour that brings the group to Asia, South America and North America. Live, the group also features DJ Nino. Their appearance at POST is certain to be one of the more fun parties during Winter Music Conference Week.
Opening artists are Something in Spanish, a duo made up of two Miami ex-patriates now living in New York City. Michelle Peres and Jules Monterrey create a sound they call avant-pop, fusing elements of 50s pop, exotic lounge, experimental electronic and free jazz. They guarantee a mysterious and engaging live show.
